County Board Chairman: Republican incumbent Dan Cronin earns an enthusiastic endorsement for delivering on his promise to promote lean, effective, and responsive government. The county spends less and has a smaller staff than it did when he took office. His push to eliminate wasteful, unnecessary local governments has seen tangible results. DuPage has had a stronger economic rebound than much of the rest of the state. At the same time, Cronin welcomes the growing diversity of DuPage and recognizes the government needs of an aging population. Cronin is our choice over Robert Peickert of Elmhurst, who is the DuPage County Democratic Party chairman and a retired Illinois Federation of Teachers staffer.
